Old-Fashioned Egg Custard
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash of nutmeg
4 egg yolks
2 egg whites
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

2 egg whites
2 tablespoons of sugar

Note: You will also need one unbaked Pie Shell

Combine the sugar, flour, salt and nutmeg together in a mixing bowl and set aside. Beat 4 egg yolks and 2 egg whites together. Add to the dry ingredients. Beat well. Gradually add in milk, then stir in the melted butter or margarine. Pour into the unbaked pie shell, bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Take out of oven. Reduce heat in oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

In clean, chilled mixing bowl beat 2 eggs whites with the sugar to make a meringue. Spread meringue on pie and return to oven for 15 minutes or until top is brown.
